Paige Hemmis Bio

Paige Hemmis grew up in Chatsworth, CA, and she wanted to be things as varied as a doctor, a teacher, a wedding planner, and to travel the world. She is a licensed emergency medical technician, and she is a cofounder of Rent to Own Investments, which is s company that remodels homes and helps people who cannot afford the down payment required to buy a home.

She was born with the spirit of an entrepreneur, and at first, she worked as a substitute teacher and a wedding planner. She launched a wedding planning business, Simply Elegant Weddings, in 2001, and from there she progressed to helping young families buy their first homes. She did not have much money, but her resourcefulness and patience allowed her to easily learn all the core aspects of the construction n business. She went out for "Monster House" so that she could win a set of tools, appearing on its Christmas-themed episode. That job landed Hemmis a gig on Extreme Makeover: Home Edition in 2003.

Paige Hemmis is very grateful for her Extreme Makeover: Home Edition role and she says that she is lucky to make a living by helping other people. In between shows, she volunteers with Keep America Beautiful and Habitat for Humanity. She has also launched a line of tools, work clothing, books and other accessories for women. She's also released a book, called the "Tough Chix Guide to Easy Home Improvement".

Even on her days off, Paige Hemmis doesn't really slow down. She has begun to dabble in race car driving, spending a lot of her free time at the track. She came by the racing honestly; her father drag raced when she was a child. When not on the track or building a home, she loves to curl up with a book, hike, or dine out.
